About

I am a master student of New Media and Digital Culture at Utrecht University, currently writing my thesis and hoping to obtain the MA degree later on this year. I started this weblog during a research internship at the Institute of Network Cultures, focusing on the subject of search technology on the Web. As my thesis revolves around the same theme, the larger part of this weblog will be dedicated to that category. However, I do aim to post reviews and thoughts on a wider range of subjects.

Short bio: After graduating from the KABK/Royal Conservatory of The Hague (NL) in 2002, I worked as a media artist for several years. In 2004, I started to produce and (co-)curate new media events and art exhibitions in the Netherlands, such as the bi-monthly film and video program Cinematiek for Lazy Marie (2004-2006) and new media conferences such as MyCreativity (2006), New Network Theory (2007) and Video Vortex (2008) as a producer for the Institute of Network Cultures. Currently, I’m part of the editorial team for ‘De Zondagsschool’, an art and research program hosted by Impakt Foundation, and coach graduate students at the department of Interactive Media at Amsterdam University of Applied Science (HvA).
